Russia has become increasingly popular among overseas students desiring to study medicine in another country. The Russian State Committee made the decision to found the university in 1944. The Institute’s official founders include professor Lazarenko F.M., a histologist; associate professor Olifson L.E., a chemist; and associate professor and surgeon Silantyev A.K. Fetisov N.V., a dentist and surgeon, served as the institute’s first director.

The university is situated in the city of Orenburg, which is roughly 2,166 kilometres from Saint Petersburg and 1,456 kilometres from Moscow, the Russian capital. The school was first established in February 1931 under the name Perm Medical Institute. In 1994, the State Committee of Higher Education of the Russian Federation ordered the academy to change its name to Perm State Medical school. In 1997, Perm State Medical School joined the European Association of Medical Schools in Europe. 

Of all the medical schools in the state, Perm State Medical University has the most patents for inventions and utility models. On September 22, 1916, Perm State Medical University was founded in the Russian city of Perm. Russia’s largest and oldest university is Perm State Medical University. In 1916, the university was founded as a medical faculty inside Perm State University. This faculty was initially a part of the physics and mathematics faculty when it was established. In 1917, it separated off to become its own department within the medical faculty.

Mari State University began in 1972 as a non-profit public higher education school in Russia. It was formed by Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education. 

The university is located in Yoshkar Ola, the capital of the Mari El Republic. The university has long been an active member of both the Russian Association of Classical Universities and the Volga Region Association of Classical Universities. 

Furthermore, Mari State University established the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities. It is also the Centre for Education and Scientific Research, and it is recognised by key bodies of several nations, including the Medical Council of India (MCI), the European Medical Council (EMC), UNESCO, and the World Directory of Medical Schools.

One of the top universities in Russia for science, education, information, social studies, and culture, Kabardino-Balkaria State University was founded in 1957 and is located in Nalchik, Kabardino-Balkaria.

Kabardino-Balkaria State University was awarded a Medal and a Certificate of Merit by the State Duma on the occasion of its 50th anniversary for its exceptional accomplishments and services. The University was listed as one of Russia’s top 100 universities in 2008. 

The winner of the All-Russian competition “100 Best University of Russia in the field of science and education” also awarded it an honorary diploma in 2010. The University implements post-secondary, higher, secondary, and supplementary professional education programmes by combining various educational levels from different institutions.

Currently, Kabardino-Balkaria State University is ranked eleventh in Russia among traditional universities. At the moment, Kabardino-Balkaria State University serves thousands of students through its 65+ departments and 800+ highly skilled faculty members.

SamSMU comprises 14 departments, 90 chairs, over 15 specialised diagnostic and therapeutic centres, and 8 institutes. The teaching staff comprises 622 members, including 14 academicians and corresponding members of various academies, 100 professors and PhDs, and 386 assistant professors. 

Samara State Medical University has been training general practitioners, pharmacists, trainees, and post-graduate research students from Eastern countries, Asia, Africa, and Latin America since 1991. This programme is based on the International Students Department.

The training programme is structured around a contract system. Our university has graduated approximately 1000 international scholars. Chuvash State University was founded in 1967 and is named for the well-known Russian educator and democrat Ilya Nikolaevich Ulyanov. Over a thousand international students from 49 countries are now enrolled at the university. In addition to post-graduate, PhD, and specialist courses in a variety of fields, including medicine, the institution offers graduation courses. Its largest anatomy museum in the area is one of the university’s main draws for medical students. More than 700 authentic human bodies and organs are available for examination in the museum.
